10 Things I Love (and 3 Things I Hate)

Hey friends, it’s Chubs again.

I spend a lot of time thinking about the important things in life—like snacks, naps, and the daily mysteries of the barn. Some things bring me great joy, while others make me question the sanity of hoomans. So today, I’m here to share what makes my little pony heart happy… and what absolutely hate.

First and foremost, there’s my girl. My little girl is, without a doubt, my favorite hay-man in the whole world. She always takes care of me, and even though she sometimes gets these wild ideas (like making me wear ridiculous things), I love her more than anything. Right behind her on the list? Broccoli. Sweet, crunchy, and always worth the effort of looking extra cute to get more. If you have broccoli, we’re best friends now.

I’m also pretty fond of my magic shoes. At first, I wasn’t so sure about them, but now? They make my feet feel so good, I wouldn’t want to be without them. Of course, once my feet feel good, the next best thing is rolling in the dirt. There’s nothing like a fresh layer of dust after being brushed—it’s a personal touch, really.

Another thing I love? Napping in the sun. The way the warm rays hit just right, the soft grass underneath me—perfection. But when it gets cold, that’s when things really get fun. That’s when Finnick and I go into full dragon mode. We run, we buck, we turn the pasture into a battlefield of playfulness. He’s my best buddy, even if he’s a bit dramatic sometimes.

Now, I know some horses hate blankets, but I actually like mine. My big purple blanket keeps me warm, and let’s be honest, if my little girl thinks purple is my favorite color, then I guess I can go along with it. When the seasons change and the weather warms up, I trade in my blanket for one of my other favorite things—swimming. Some horses hate water, but not me. If there’s a pond, you bet I’m in it.

And, of course, we can’t forget morning snacks. Breakfast time is, without a doubt, the most important time of the day. Well, unless you count the moment when Emmalynn scratches the special spot on my forehead, right where my cross is. She says it makes me special. I already knew that, but it’s nice to hear.

Now, while there’s a lot to love about life, there are a few things I do not love.

For starters, the vet. I get that they’re trying to help, but why do they have to poke and prod so much? I’d rather they just give me a cookie and let me leave. Then there’s plastic bags. I don’t trust them. They move weird, make suspicious crinkly sounds, and could be planning something devious. I’ll keep my eye on them. And finally, the ultimate offense—being ignored at feeding time. If I see the food, I should be eating the food. Simple as that.

So there you have it—ten things that make my life great, and three things that should be abolished immediately. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have an important date with the sun and a good nap.

Until next time, friends. 🐴
