The Big, Purple Blanket

Hey friends, it’s Chubs again.

Let’s talk about something important—winter fashion. Or, more specifically, blankets.

Now, I’m not the kind of horse who gets all worked up about style. My little girl, though? She thinks I have a favorite color. And according to her, that color is purple. Why? I have no idea. Maybe because she likes it. Maybe because she thinks it makes me look extra fancy. Or maybe—just maybe—because when she saw a big, fluffy, purple blanket at the store, she decided I had to have it.

And, well… she’s not wrong.

I don’t really care what color my blanket is. It could be green, blue, or covered in tiny dancing carrots for all I care. What does matter is that it keeps me warm. And on those really cold days this winter, I’ve been grateful for it. There’s nothing worse than standing out in the pasture with icy wind blowing through your coat, wishing you were snuggled up in the barn instead. But with my big, purple blanket wrapped around me? Cozy. Toasty. Perfect.

Finnick, on the other hoof? He hates his blanket. The moment they put it on, he stomps around like he’s wearing a hundred-pound saddle and acts like he’s being personally insulted by the very fabric touching his back. I don’t get it. A warm horse is a happy horse, right? He calls me ridiculous for actually liking mine. But I call him dramatic.

At the end of the day, my little girl thinks I love my purple blanket. So, I let her believe it. If it makes her happy, it makes me happy. And if it means staying warm on those bitterly cold nights? Well, I’ll happily wear my purple coat of honor.

Just don’t expect me to start caring about actual fashion anytime soon.

Stay warm, friends. 🐴💜
