Even When You’re Nervous, Trust the Ride

Hey there, friends! It’s me, Chubs, your favorite adventure-loving pony!

Trail riding season is almost here, and I can already hear the humans talking about all the places they want to go. Long trails, new adventures, maybe even camping (I’m still deciding how I feel about that one). But with all the excitement, I can’t help but remember something important—trusting the ride, even when you’re nervous.

Now, if you know me, you know I love a good trail ride. The fresh air, the new places, the chance to explore with my best friend, Emmalynn. But that doesn’t mean I don’t get nervous sometimes. There are strange sounds in the woodsbig hills I’ve never climbed before, and, let’s be honest—pigs. (Yes, pigs. I’m still not convinced they’re not secretly tiny dragons.)

But here’s the thing—when I feel unsure, I trust my rider. I may not understand where we’re going, or why we’re taking a certain path, but I know Emmalynn won’t lead me anywhere dangerous. She guides me, encourages me, and sometimes even sings to me when I get extra nervous (even if she’s a little off-key).

And you know what? That’s exactly how we should trust God.

Sometimes, life feels like a new trail—full of unknowns, twists and turns, and things that make us want to stop in our tracks. Maybe we don’t understand why something is happening or why we’re being asked to take a certain path. But God is like the best rider—He knows where He’s leading us. We might feel nervous, but He never lets go of the reins.

Just like I have to trust Emmalynn to guide me safely, we have to trust God to lead us in the right direction. And when we do? We can move forward with confidence.

So, as trail riding season begins, I’ll remind myself to trust the ride, even if there are pigs along the way. And if you’re facing something that makes you feel unsure? Remember that God is leading you, one step at a time.

Now, who’s ready for an adventure? 🐎
