Hey there, friends! It’s me, Chubs, your favorite adventure-loving pony! There’s nothing I love more than hitting the trails with my best friend, Emmalynn, and my barn buddies. Some trails are easy, some have big hills (which I’m not a fan of), and some even have lakes where I can splash around. Each one is special in its own way, and today, I’m going to tell you about some of my favorite places we’ve explored—plus a few new ones we might visit soon!
One of the best places we ever rode was called Honey Lee. It had open spaces, twisty paths, and lots of fun places to trot. I loved it! But I heard the humans talking, and they said it’s closed now. That makes me sad because I have so many good memories there. I guess that’s why they always say to enjoy every adventure while you can!
Last summer, we went to a big lake called Thunderbird, and let me tell you—IT. WAS. AWESOME. I don’t know if I’d call myself a water horse, but I do enjoy splashing around a little! The trails there were long and winding, and I got to explore with Finnick and my other friends. The best part? The humans let us cool off in the water after our ride! I was careful not to get too wet (because wet fur = itchy Chubs), but it was still so much fun!
Another fun place we went last summer was Draper. The trails there are a little different—some parts are really open, and some are super twisty through the trees. One time, we even saw a deer! (Don’t worry, I didn’t run away, but I did stop and stare for a long time.) It’s a fun place to ride, and I hope we go back again!
This year, I hear we’re trying new places. One of them? A trail that passes a house with PIGS. 😳 Now, I’ve seen all kinds of animals—dogs, cows, even some weird-looking birds—but pigs? I’m not so sure about those. The good news is, I only have to pass the house, not stop and make friends. (Finnick says I’m being dramatic, but we’ll see how he feels when he actually sees them!)
There’s been a lot of chatter in the barn about going on a camping trip. The humans are talking about riding to a lake called Prague and another place called Roman Nose Park. Now, I’ve done long trail rides before, but sleeping outside? That’s new! I don’t know what to think yet. What if there are wild pigs? (Okay, okay, I’ll stop talking about pigs.)
Still, as long as Emmalynn is with me, and Finnick is by my side, I’ll go just about anywhere. Adventures are always better with friends!
Do you have a favorite place to ride? Have YOU ever gone camping with a horse? Let me know in the comments—maybe one day, I’ll get to explore some of your favorite spots, too!
Until next time… Happy trails! 🐎✨
