Hey friends, it’s Chubs again—your local expert on snacks, naps, and surprisingly impressive pony facts.
Today, I thought I’d take a break from trail riding, avoiding the vet, and glaring at suspicious plastic bags to share a few fun horse facts that I think you’ll enjoy. Yes, these are real facts. No, I did not make them up to win arguments with Finnick (probably).
Let’s dive in:
1. Horses Can’t Throw Up! 🤯
That’s right. Unlike hoomans who can “get rid” of something they ate that didn’t sit right, horses have a one-way digestive system. Once the food goes in, it keeps going. No reverse gear. That’s why hoomans have to be super careful with what they feed us. One bad snack, and we’ve got ourselves a big problem. (So maybe don’t let Finnick eat half a plastic bucket again. Just saying.)
2. A Horse’s Teeth Take Up More Space Than Their Brain! 🦷🧠
Sounds dramatic, but it’s true. We’ve got a lot of teeth—up to 40! And they’re big. Bigger than our brains, apparently. Which explains why the vet is constantly poking around in there like it’s a dental treasure hunt. More teeth than brains? Some of us are fine with that. Others—cough Finnick cough—might be offended.
3. Horses Have Built-In Windshield Wipers! 👀
Okay, not the kind on cars, but close! We’ve got a third eyelid that sweeps across our eyes to keep out dust, dirt, and bugs. Very handy when rolling around in the pasture like a fuzzy tornado. Stylish and functional.
4. Ponies Are Just as Strong as Big Horses! 💪
Don’t let our size fool you. We’re compact, yes. But we’re basically fun-sized powerhouses. We can pull, carry, and work just as hard as the tall guys. Some days, even harder. You know it’s true. I’m stronger than Finnick, and that’s just science.
So there you have it—four fun facts straight from your favorite knowledgeable pony. If you’d like more, just say the word. I’ve got a whole brain full of information and nowhere else to put it. Except, maybe, my blog.
Until next time—stay curious, stay clever, and always trust the pony with the facts. 🐴
