Hey friends, it’s Chubs again—your favorite trail-trottin’, leaf-crunchin’, fuzzy-coated pony.
I have one word for you:
Fall.
It’s finally here. And do you know what that means?
Trail ride season has officially begun.
Gone are the sweltering summer days when you start sweating just looking at the saddle. Now the air is crisp, the flies are less annoying (bless), and the trees are putting on their fancy orange and red outfits just for us. It’s the perfect time to hit the trails.
My hooman and I have already been out for a few cool morning rides, and let me tell you—there is nothing quite like the sound of leaves crunching under your hooves. Finnick and I walk side by side (unless he gets too full of himself, and then I “accidentally” bump him off the path), and we get to explore all the best spots before winter rolls in.
Sometimes we ride out just for fun, and sometimes we go on longer trips—even overnight ones. I get my own little paddock to sleep in, extra hay, and the hooman calls me “her brave trail pony.” I like the sound of that.
Plus, with our fancy new trailer (did I mention it has a ramp?), loading up and heading out has never been easier. I walk in like royalty and ride in style. Finnick actually smiles. I didn’t know he could do that.
So if you were waiting for a sign to dust off your boots and saddle up, this is it. The weather is perfect, the trees are beautiful, and the trails are calling.
Just don’t forget the snacks. Trail rides are better with carrots. Always.
Until next time—trot gently, breathe in the crisp air, and enjoy every crunchy step.
